Disposable paper cups are paper containers made from wood pulp and then processed. There are two types of coatings on the inside of paper cups, one is wax coated paper cups and the other is PE coated paper cups.
I. Waxed paper cups

Therefore, the hidden danger posed by the use of wax-coated paper cups (cold drink cups) is that when the wax layer gradually melts, the cups will soften and deform when they come into contact with water, and the splash of water may burn on its own.

2 PE paper cups
Coated (PE) paper cups in the paper cups covered with a layer of PE on the inner wall, very smooth, can play the role of waterproof and oil-proof. PE is polyethylene, food processing is assured that the chemical substances, also known as plastic.
This material is odorless, non-toxic, waxy and has a low water absorption rate, so it is often used as a waterproof material. Its melting point is between 120-140, while the boiling point of water is 100, so it does not dissolve in water and is more assured to be used.
Most of the disposable paper cups on the market are single-layer coated (PE) paper cups, i.e., only the inner wall of the paper cup is coated, and the outer wall is not coated.
Therefore, it is not recommended to take cold drinks, because when you take cold drinks, it is easy to form condensation on the outer wall of the cup, so that the cup is easy to become soft, the hardness decreases, and the paper cup is easy to be deformed, resulting in water overflow.
In fact, the number of waxed paper cups on the market has decreased quite a bit. Most of the paper cups we see are coated paper cups. If you want to drink hot drinks, buy single-layer copperplate paper cups.
